YOUR PRE-CLASS CHECKLIST

Check your confirmation email

Your booking confirmation has everything in one place — your Zoom link, your shopping list download, your class time, and any add-on details. Save it somewhere easy to find.

Can't find it? Check your spam folder first, then get in touch and we'll resend it.

Download your shopping list

Your shopping list is linked in your confirmation email. Print it out or pull it up on your phone at the store — it has everything you need for the menu, with quantities.

Can't find a specific ingredient? No problem — just let your chef know at the start of class and they'll walk you through any substitutions.

Shop for your ingredients

Try to shop 1–2 days before class so everything is fresh. If you ordered ingredient kits, they'll arrive 1–5 days before your class — just keep everything refrigerated until class day.

Prefer a substitute or already have something on hand? Bring it out at the start of class — your chef will make it work.

Set up your kitchen before class

Give yourself 10–15 minutes before your class starts to get everything laid out. The more organized your workspace, the more fun class is.

Share the Zoom link

If you booked for more than one kitchen, forward the Zoom link from your confirmation email to everyone joining. Each kitchen needs to join separately on their own device.

We recommend joining from a tablet, laptop, or desktop rather than a phone — it's easier to see your chef and have your hands free to cook.

Join Zoom a few minutes early

Your chef will be live at class time. Jump on a few minutes early to test your audio and video, get your ingredients out, and settle in before the cooking starts.

Pro tip: prop your device up so your chef can see your workspace — they'll give you much better guidance if they can see what's happening in your kitchen.

GET YOUR KITCHEN READY

A few things that make class a lot smoother.

You don't need a fancy kitchen — just a few basics and a clear counter.

Essential tools

  • A sharp chef's knife

  • Cutting board

  • Medium and large pans or pots

  • Mixing bowls

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Nice to have

  • Kitchen scale (especially for baking)

  • Instant-read thermometer

  • Bench scraper (for doughs)

  • Fine-mesh strainer

  • Microplane or grater

Set up your space

  • Clear your counter before class

  • Have all ingredients and equipment pulled out

  • Prop your device so your chef can see you

  • Keep a clean dish towel or paper towels nearby
